Sending Our Love to Mother Teresa High School

On Thursday of last week, an explosion at Mother Teresa Catholic High School injured several students and a teacher. Grade twelve student Eric Leighton later died in hospital. Family, friends, students and staff at Mother Teresa and the whole Ottawa community are reeling from this tragedy.

There has been an outpouring of support for all those affected by this loss, including a beautiful banner by students at Longfields-Davidson Heights High School:

I didn’t know Eric personally, but our staff has been lucky to work with many Mother Teresa students through the In Love… and In Danger Program. We are devastated by your loss.

We hope that, in the days and weeks to come, you all have someone you can talk to and lean on as you grieve. We hope that you get the space, support, and comfort that you need.

We are sending out our thoughts and our prayers to you.
